What happened to Ubuntu?

Marlene Taylor from Brakpan writes: I absolutely agree with Ray Landon from Brakpan (December 13, “Allow squatters normal access”).

I also think his suggestion would solve the problem, “to give them access to the Weltevreden Landfill with space inside to collect and store the plastic and allow their lorries access to collect it and it would give these poor people an income, recycle the plastic and improve the environment”.

The ANC should send someone to educate the people about cleaning the environment and recycling instead of just making it more difficult for them!

They don’t have anywhere to go and if they are kicked off the land, they will just erect shacks elsewhere and start a “Plastic City” somewhere else.

What happened to Ubuntu?

And another thing…there are street lights burning in various parts of Brakpan day and night and the taxpayers are paying for it!

My last gripe – why does Brakpan frequently smell like sewage?

The municipality needs to do something about it.

It’s disgusting and it can’t be very healthy!
