Why change something that works?

"Anonymous", from Dalpark writes: I travel regularly through the intersection at Mall@Carnival.

I would like to know whom the rocket scientist is who changed the timing and directions of the arrows at the robots?

The volume of traffic that moves through that intersection is an absolute nightmare at the best of times, and now it is even worse.

People are used to the turning arrows coming on after the bulk of the traffic has moved, but now they come on first, allowing four or five vehicles at the most to turn.

The heavy trucks just do as they like, as do the taxis — it is a disaster waiting to happen.

I am petrified of going through the intersection now if the lights have just changed, not knowing who is going to jump the lights.

It is much more dangerous at night, as the car lights make it harder to see the traffic approaching.

As the old adage says: “why change something that works?”
