Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from October 20 to 22.
The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
• Friday – A white Ford Ranger was stolen from the corner of Kersboom and Wattle streets in Dalpark.
• A grey Toyota Hilux was stolen from Muriel Brand Street in Brenthurst.
• Cash, a cellphone, a pair of tekkies and a bag were stolen during a burglary at an address along Wenden Avenue.
• A car parked at Mall@Carnival was broken into and a laptop was stolen.
• A home along Lotus Avenue in Kenleaf was burgled of laptops, a TV, jewellery and other valuables.
Saturday – A welding machine, a grinder and a bicycle were stolen from a home along Germains Avenue.
• Copper pipes, taps and other fittings were stolen during a break-in at a home along Kitzinger Avenue. The property was unoccupied for several days. Cash and a cellphone were stolen during a robbery at a Wenden Avenue shop.
The shop owner’s brother, who was at the till, noticed two men enter the store at around 08:30. One of the robbers approached him and demanded money while the other harassed a customer.
This robber took money from the till and a cellphone belonging to the shop owner’s brother. The robbers were unarmed.
Sunday – A home in Stoffberg Avenue was burgled of a TV.
• A gas stove and gas bottle, a sound system, groceries, a TV, laptops and other household items were stolen during a break-in at a home along Germains Avenue.
• A garage at a residence in Hastings Avenue was broken into. Two bicycles and a set of mag wheels and tyres were stolen.
