Soul Outreach in need of help

This centre has appealed to the community for financial assistance.

Soul Outreach Community Upliftment Centre in Dalview is an NPO that is in urgent need of help from the community.

This organisation opened their doors three years ago, and its overnight shelter has been operating for two years.

The centre provides a place of safety for women and children, a 24-hour emergency shelter as well as short and medium residential accommodation.

There are currently 20 people at the shelter. Among these are children as well as adults with their age groups ranging from nine months to 60 years old.

All of their residents receive three nutritious meals a day, a roof over their heads and a warm bed at night. They assist in creating or updating CVs and have a network assisting with job seeking and positions of employment.

They aim to empower and rebuild lives without fear and violence. They provide counselling and emotional support and just give that much-needed dignity and upliftment.

Their weekly soup kitchen has been a huge success feeding around 150 to 200 people every Wednesday.

Through donations and donors, they offer soup with fresh bread and a variety of fruits. The children get a different ‘kiddie pack’ each week consisting of crisps, a few sweets and fruit/juice and depending on contributions a beanie or scarf for the winter months.

They are planning on expanding their soup kitchen to feed from Monday to Friday.

“Without the kindness and generosity of business owners and the caring general public, we could not offer our love, support and the needs of our community.

“The reliance on donations and contributions in any form continues to be a blessing to us. Let us together with your support bless and ultimately positively affect those in need,” co-founder and director Martina Stickling said.

The centre relies on donations to continue its operations and has appealed to the community for assistance. For more information regarding fundraisers and representatives, contact Stickling on 081 745 7182.
