Brakpan SPCA reopens

The office and pound were temporarily closed to the public.

The Brakpan SPCA reopened its doors to the public on Monday.

As reported in the January 31 edition of the Brakpan Herald, last week saw the temporary closure of the society following numerous challenges that placed immense pressure on its operations.

The brief closure allowed the SPCA to tackle some operational challenges, including training a new office administrator and adjusting to staff shortages in the kennels.

They are also still trying to source a crucial part to get their bakkie back on the road, which has added to the pressure on the team.

The short pause allowed staff to regroup and adapt to the changes, ensuring they continue providing the best care possible.

Through it all, the SPCA never closed their doors to animals in need. Staff were at the pound every day ensuring they received the care they deserve.
