Gymnasts nab champs title

The competition was close, with second place just 0.7 points behind the winning pair.

Acrobatic gymnasts Zanelle Venter and Niahné Bothma from the Brakpan-based Masters Gymnasts Club participated in the SA Gymnastics Games 2024 in Cape Town.

The level six women’s pair represented Gauteng, competing against a group of 10 pairs and coming out on top with a score of 26.95, 0.7 points above second place.

This win secured the pair the title of SA Champions in the level, making the Masters Gymnasts coaches proud.

“It was not easy. The group of competitors was strong. The tight competition showed the quality and performance level of all acro-gymnasts. The difference between first and second place was small, showing how close the competition was,” explained Zanelle.

“I am happy we did it, and thank the team of coaches from Masters Gymnasts Club and our parents for supporting us on our journey.”
