Community Wellness Day unites community against crime

There were several presentations to help the community, along with the 5km fun walk.

A Community Wellness Day organised by Berakah Community Development, a local NPO, was held on September 14 in Dalpark Ext 6.

The colour fun walk was held at the sports grounds in the neighbourhood, in collaboration with SAPS, EMPD, the Department of Social Development and local banks.

There was also a talent show and various stalls, among which were presentations for health, financial literacy, GBV, trauma and counselling, and stalls selling food and drink.

“The EMPD Specialised K9 Unit stole the show, amusing all who attended,” said Constable Audrey Buthelezi, Sector 1 manager and corporate communications officer for Brakpan SAPS.

The winners on the day were awarded with prizes presented by Buthelezi and the Brakpan CPF Sector 4 chairperson, Jessy Naicker.
