A security guard was killed during an armed robbery at a business in Witpoort Estates last Thursday evening.
The 55-year-old man was stabbed multiple times.
According to police information, a security officer from a local security company responded to an alarm at the Springs Road business at around 22:40.
When he arrived at the gate, he was expecting to be met by the guard on duty but there was no response.
He alerted the guard’s employer, and a supervisor from this security company was sent out to meet with the officer.

The pair entered the premises and found signs of forced entry, which included a perimeter breach and two broken doors.
They also found blood stains, which led them to the guard. Paramedics were called and the guard was declared dead on the scene.
A converter was reported as being the only item stolen during the robbery.
It is not known how many perpetrators were involved. Cases of business robbery and murder are under investigation.
