Promoting responsible pet ownership

Help SPOT continue their great work assisting animals in the community.

Thirty-five animals were spayed or neutered during a recent sterilisation day held by SPOT (Sunny’s Pet Outreach Team NPC).

The Brakpan NPC will hold another sterilisation day on September 17 with limited space available.

“In collaboration with Tales of Tails, From Tassie with Love and Let’s Spay SA, we are looking at doing this on a monthly basis to assist the animals in our community,” said Sanette Bosman from SPOT.

As a community-centred organisation, SPOT rarely asks for help as they know times are tough, but they desperately need assistance with food donations for which 18A certificates can be issued.

They give so much to the community’s animals and ask very little in return to sustain their efforts.

“We dream of the day Brakpan can be considered one of the most responsible pet owner towns in the country and we will keep working towards that goal,” said Bosman.

The NPC’s main objective is to promote responsible pet ownership through education and assistance and also to prevent cruelty, neglect or abuse.
