Brakpan beat Boksburg

The writing was already on the wall at half-time.

Brakpan Rugby Club hosted Boksburg on Saturday in the Peregrine League. The matches were part of the second round of the league, where the teams were scrambling to secure a semi-final spot and home-ground advantage.

A promised tight match in its build-up fizzled out quickly as Brakpan steam-rolled over Boksburg.

Brakpan’s first team scored 15 tries in a 99-7 winning margin. At the stroke of halftime, the writing was already on the wall where Brakpan was 59-0 ahead.

The two Brandons in the team, Brandon Swart and Brandon Smith stole the show as between them they scored nine tries.

The match was stopped 15 minutes before the end because of the big points difference. Brakpan is top of the log and it seems highly likely they will host one of the semi-finals at home.
