The Brakpan Pigeon Racing Club, affiliated with the Gauteng Pigeon Union (GPU), race results for July 13 highlighted two club winners – Johan van Staden in the open race, and David Pretorius in the young birds race.
Frik Nel and Gavin Lloyd took the first spot in the young bird race.
Van Staden took first a second place in the open race, as well as seventh, 10th, and 18th, securing first place with six positions on the race card.
Nel and Lloyd, racing together, got first place on the race card, as well as sixth, 22nd and 28th, landing them third in the club in the young birds race.
First place goes to David Pretorius, who did not have the first bird home but got eight positions overall over Smith and Lloyd’s four.
The club races weekly in several divisions, and welcomes anyone, young and old, to join them. Interested parties can contact the chairperson, Frik Smith, on 071 481 2438.
