It was a day of sensational football when Leachville Shooters held their third annual June 16 winter tournament in Brakpan.
The tournament was held in conjunction with the Brakpan Sports Association (BSA), which is part of the Brakpan Local Football Association.
The BSA caters to around 16 teams.
“We had an exciting day filled with all soccer action,” said BSA’s chairperson Maria Makola. I am very proud of all the teams for participating and to our management on a job well done.
“Thank you to Bheki Gamede for inviting the association to be part of the tournament.”
The results were:
- U13: Brakpan Bush 1-2 Golden Boys
- U17: Anzac Dolphins Academy 1-0 Leachville Shooters
- U23: Young Stars FC 1-1 Anzac Dolphins Academy
Three players, one from each age division, were also named players of the tournament.
They were:
- U13: Khanya Mfene from Golden Boys Academy
- U17: Thebeostile Molefe from Anzac Dolphins Academy
- U23: Jacob Makola from Young Stars FC.
