Woman raped, robbed in Dalpark Ext 6

Her attackers were armed with a gun and a knife.

The Brakpan Sector Four CPF has urged community members not to use the pedestrian path through the Dalpark Ext 6 sports field in the evenings following the rape and robbery of a woman in the area on Monday.

Information provided by Brakpan police states the victim was en route to her sister’s house after she was dropped off by a taxi at around 18:00.

As she walked along the path, she was attacked by two men wearing balaclavas. One of the men strangled her and the other searched her.

The attackers demanded money and threatened her with a gun and a knife. The victim was robbed of her cellphone, and the men instructed her to undress.

One of the men also removed his clothing. He then pushed the victim to the ground and raped her.

She was then raped by the second man. Before fleeing the scene, the pair also took the victim’s scarf and a blanket.

In a message circulated to members of a Dalpark WhatsApp Security Group, Sector Four CPF chairperson Jessy Naicker requested people avoid using the path, especially after 17:00.

Cases of rape and armed robbery were opened at the Brakpan Police Station.
