Brakpanites queue for elections

Queueing started early this morning for residents of Brakpan, who were eager to make their mark.

Residents from Brakpan started queueing early this morning to vote for their national, provincial and local government.

Some were prepared and others made a plan for the long wait make their mark on the ballots.

While the Sherwood Gardens temporary voting station had some network issues delaying the voting, officials tried their best to keep the line moving.

Across town, elderly voters were prioritised and allowed to move to the front of the line.

Spirits seemed to be high among voters, and some made it a family affair, bringing their children with them to the voting station.
