Just Wheels Club appoints new chairperson
The young man is excited to take the club to new heights.
He might be young, but Daron Venter is ready to take on the responsibilities as chairperson of the Just Wheels Vehicle and Tractor Club.
The 23-year-old was appointed to his new role on April 16. Daron has been a member of the club for around two years and was previously the deputy chairperson.
Daron’s car is a 1997 Volkswagen Caddy. He’s also working on a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle and drives a motorcycle.
Daron is a proper gearhead, and when asked to name his favourite or dream car to work on he couldn’t decide right away.
He eventually settled on a Volkswagen Beetle. Daron is a software developer and loves his family – parents Dauw and Sharon Venter, and younger sister Christine (21).

The young chairperson’s hopes for the club are to attract other young gearheads and to have more variety in the shows and competitions that the club has at their monthly open days.
The club has around 100 members, but Daron would like to grow that membership. He also wants to invite the general public to attend the open days, which are free to enter.
“There is a wide variety of stalls and the bar is fully stocked,” he said.
