Couple robbed at knifepoint in their home

The intruders demanded to know if there were any firearms in the home.

A Sherwood Gardens couple was robbed in their Hospital Road home during the early hours of Monday morning.

According to Brakpan police, the husband woke up at around 03:00 and went to the bathroom.

Terror struck when he saw two men inside his home. When he screamed, one of the intruders pointed a knife at him.

The husband then heard his wife screaming from the bedroom.

The robbers forced the husband back to the bedroom and demanded to know if there were any firearms in the house.

They instructed the couple to deactivate their cellphone passwords and then took both devices.

The wife’s handbag was also searched. The men left the bedroom and when the husband could no longer hear them inside the house, he went to search the home.

It was discovered the robbers had taken a TV, a laptop, jewellery and other valuables with a combined value of around R50 500.
