The 54-year-old is very involved in various cancer support groups and organisations.

Carla Young (54) from Dalpark Ext 6 is a semi-finalist in the Dallmayr Mrs South Africa 2024 pageant. Carla started her Mrs SA journey on February 2 with the national public casting round at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort.

She initially heard about the pageant in 2016 when Candace Abrahams won the crown. The pageant’s goals and motives suited her because she also has a passion for caring and women empowerment. She is involved in several cancer support associations and societies.

The pageant also trains the participants in leadership, financial competence, sponsorship management, communication, personal branding and media management, allowing them to pursue their dreams and achieve higher aspirations.

Carla attended the Dallmayr semi-finalist seminar at Emperor’s Palace on February 3 and 4. It focused on empowerment and personal development.

She will participate in many workshops and events leading up to the semi-finalist judging week in July, where 30 finalists will be named.
