More blankets donated to Eventide by Sip ‘n Crochet

The group is increasing productivity, and plan to donate many more blankets to institutions and people in need.

Heather Bendeman, the founder of Sip ‘n Crochet, took 24 more blankets to the Eventide Old Age Home on Tuesday.

Heather donated a few blankets in December, which were put together from squares made by the women who attend the monthly Sip ‘n Crochet meetings.

The blankets, affectionately called friendship blankets, vary in size with some being standard single bed blankets, smaller shoulder blankets or wheelchair blankets, like the 24 donated on Tuesday.

Selma Jordaan, the senior housekeeper for Eventide, received the blankets with a big smile. The blankets will be distributed among residents in the home with the most need.
