Brakpan detectives recognised for going the extra mile

Hard work pays off for dedicated detectives.

The office of SAPS Ekurhuleni District commissioner, Major-General Anna Sithole, recently awarded outstanding performance certificates to members of detective units from different police stations within the district.

These detectives were recognised for going the extra mile and securing satisfying court convictions.

Among them were Sergeant Mduduzi Manzini, Sergeant Ntokozo Mlangeni and Constable Thulani Madonsela from the Brakpan Police Station.

Manzine was recognised for his diligent work on three 2021 Brakpan cases.

He secured 10-year prison sentences for offenders for tampering with infrastructure and theft.

Manzini also secured the conviction of two other perpetrators, who received 15 years for tampering with infrastructure and another 15 years for theft.

Mlangeni was awarded for his dedication and securing convictions for Brakpan cases stemming from 2022.

One offender received 15 years imprisonment for aggravated robbery.

On another case, the culprit received 25 years imprisonment for murder and four years for attempted murder.

Madonsela was awarded for his outstanding performance in securing a 20-year conviction for a tampering with infrastructure and theft case in Brakpan in 2022.

The trio expressed their satisfaction on the court’s decisions and cited that it strengthens and motivates them towards professional excellence.

Lieutenant Colonel Sifiso Madlala (Brakpan SAPS interim head of detectives) applauded the detectives and praised them as good examples of professionalism, dedication and hard work.

Brakpan SAPS station commander Brigadier Fredl Jonck extended his gratitude to the detectives and welcomed the recognition, citing that their excellent performances indicates pride in the service.
