Women, take charge of your health

Mobile clinics have been travelling the country to bring quality health care to the heart of communities

#Keready is encouraging young women to visit one of their 46 mobile clinics to discuss any health related issues they may be experiencing.

Recently, travelling through the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape, the units boast a full contingent of young and vibrant doctors, nurses and communicators, ready to render essential health services to communities in need.

These units are equipped with the latest technology to screen and test for a variety of conditions, including sexually transmitted infections, blood pressure, diabetes and HIV.

Young women will also be able to access assistance and information relating to their periods, pregnancy or birth control.

What’s more the units have access to a dedicated WhatsApp line, where patients can communicate with a dedicated doctor, 24/7.

It is hoped that by placing young and energetic medical teams within the heart of the community, young women will become empowered through having access to knowledge and resources, thus making better informed choices about their health.

As a youth movement dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare, the young doctors, understand the importance of engaging with women on their own terms.

“Your health is wealth, so don’t neglect regular check-ups,” said Dr Saira Carim.

Dr Siyanda Mgangato further encouraged women to prioritise themselves.

“Everyone deserves to feel confident and in control of their health,” she said. “We are all in this together, supporting each other every step of the way.”
