SADAG introduces two new online support groups

Sadag has launched a support group for people suffering from bipolar disorder and entrepreneurs.

To create more mental health resources, the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) has announced the launch of two new free online support groups aimed to provide guidance, understanding, and a sense of belonging for people facing similar challenges.

On October 10, the World Health Organization (WHO) commemorated World Mental Health Day under the theme ‘Mental Health is a Universal Human Right’.

The organisation said the day was an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme.

Following this, Sadag has launched a support group for people suffering from bipolar disorder and entrepreneurs.

Sisonke Nkonki, Sadag support group leader, will offer a helping hand to those managing bipolar disorder, anxiety and panic attacks.

Sadag marketer Jane Mashava said members can expect a safe environment to share, learn, and uncover strategies for managing their mental health.

The first meeting will take place on November 1 at 19:00 followed by meetings on the last Wednesday of each month.

“If you or a loved one are living with a mental illness, don’t miss this opportunity for understanding and support,” she stated.

To join the support group Sisonke can be contacted on 072 015 8384. She shared that entrepreneurship can be an exciting yet often solitary journey.

“That’s why we’re offering this new support group that is also accessible online for free, starting on November 9, and continuing every second Thursday, to be led by Erin-Leigh De Vries.

“This group provides a platform for like-minded individuals to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.

“Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting, you’re welcome to join this dynamic community.”

Both groups are open to anyone seeking guidance, support, and a sense of community.

Whether you’re managing a mental health condition or navigating the entrepreneurial world, these support groups aim to empower individuals with the tools and connections needed to thrive.
