Dirk van der Hoff sees repairs

The process will take up to two months, provided all goes well.

On July 7, the Brakpan Herald reported on a stretch of Dirk van der Hoff Road that had been damaged due to an alleged pipe leak (Slegte strook pad is ‘n groot kopseer vir motoriste).

The stretch of road is now finally being repaired, but it may take a while. DA ward Clr Anette Verster informed the Herald that the repairs may take two months if all goes well.

To repair the road a new pipe has to be installed to absorb and redirect the ground water. Once the road has completely dried, the tar can be resurfaced.

Sasol technicians also have to be present for the entire process to ensure no damage occurs to their gasline.

The project started on September 14.
