Another body found in Withok Estates

Four bodies were found in the area last month.

A case of murder is under investigation after the body of a man was found in Withok Estates last Friday morning.

The victim, who has been identified as a foreign national who lived in Kwa-Thema, was found along Rademan Street.

Police officers who responded to the scene found the victim fully clothed but bruised and bloodied. It is believed he was robbed of his cellphone and other belongings.

He sustained an injury to his chest but it was unclear whether he had been stabbed or shot. Paramedics declared the victim dead on the scene and the body was taken to the Springs Mortuary.

The discovery of this deceased takes the body count in this area up to five in just over a month.

On May 13, the body of a man with no visible injuries was found by a herder in an open field along the R23 (Heidelberg Road), near Boland Street.

He was wearing a torn red Uzzi T-shirt and brown trousers.

On May 22, police were notified about the bodies of two men found in a dilapidated container near Lukas Steyn Street.

It was discovered that both had gunshot wounds, and four empty cartridges were found on the scene.

One of the men had a backpack containing tools used for cable theft. A double murder case was opened.

Police then confirmed a burnt body was found on the same day, about a kilometre from the crime scene.

An inquest docket was opened for this case.
