Rand Water maintenance on H5 pipeline might affect water supply
The affected municipal customers have been informed in advance.
Rand Water will start its planned maintenance on the H5 pipeline this weekend. They will tie in a new portion of the H5 pipeline to the existing one.
The H5 pipeline impacts water provision to some parts of the CoE.
The maintenance project, planned for 40 hours, will be from 18:00 on June 9 until noon on June 11.
This project forms part of Rand Water’s augmentation strategy to refurbish and upgrade its infrastructure to ensure future sustainability.

Some residents of the CoE will experience water supply shortages.
Rand Water informed the affected municipal customers by issuing a 21-day advance notification of the maintenance.
The CoE will communicate to its customers the impact on water supply and the list of affected areas.
The maintenance is necessary to ensure the continuous future provision of water to Rand Water’s customers.
They urged consumers to continue using water sparingly.
