Rebuilding for Spurs

The club is looking for new talent.

This year seems to be a rebuilding year for Brakpan Spurs.

With so many of their top youngsters moving on to university and no longer being available for the club, they are forced to have to work on getting new talent.

Club manager Jabulani Munene insists that in 2023 they will only have an U13 and first-team sides as they will have limited space to train.

“We will not have Brakpan Stadium this year as we noticed that the goalposts were taken away after a musical event happened at the stadium,” he said.

“We are now training at a park and will be playing our home matches in the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) league at one of the local schools.”

The rebuilding process will be an interesting one to watch.

“With players like Udoka Mogoboya leaving for varsity and others in matric, it will be tough to get a team together,” said Munene.

There is, however, good news.

“With the return of Piet Mampe who had left the club for Taung Mega Stars playing in the ABC Motsepe League, we believe we can strengthen our squad,” said the manager.

Munene appealed to those who are interested in joining the club to contact him on 074 888 2968.
