Brakpan CPF spreads joy

The local community policing forum continues to make a difference in the lives of others.

As part of its contribution to Mandela Day, the Brakpan CPF handed bags of goodies and groceries to Soul Outreach Community Upliftment in Dalview.

The donations came via Sector Four deputy chairperson Jessy Naicker and his generous contributors as well as organisations with which he is associated.

There were plenty of happy faces at the centre, situated along Hamilton Avenue, which assists with rehabilitation and provides accommodation and food to men, women and children.

The CPF has also been busy with various community projects in honour of Mandela month.

Last week, one member and his staff donated paint and labour towards the new Victim Empowerment Centre at the Brakpan Police Station.

This was followed by a donation of 25 pairs of school shoes to children in need. This is part of an ongoing project.

The shoes were handed over to delighted little ones by CPF members and Sergeant Faith Ntuli, Brakpan SAPS Sector Four manager/social crime prevention.

On Saturday, the CPF and police met with the community of Sallies Hostel to encourage them to join the CPF and help fight crime by working together to solve community challenges.

Donations of clothes were handed out to this community. The community will establish a committee of leaders that will raise their issues. The CPF and SAPS will assist where they can.
