Robbers hit Dalpark home

The domestic worker was in the house when two men gained access.

A domestic worker was tied up during a robbery at her employer’s Dalpark home on Tuesday afternoon.

Brakpan SAPS spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad told the Herald the incident took place at about 15:00 at an address along Wordsworth Street.

“The domestic worker was eating when she heard the garage door opening and thought it was the owners,” said van Staad.

“She went to check and saw a man standing at the entrance to the kitchen. He told her to go back to the dining room.”

The intruder, who was armed with a crowbar, then tied the woman up with cable ties and covered her with a blanket.

“He then went to the fridge and took packets of meat. Another man went to the living room and took a TV and a laptop,” said van Staad.
