With winter just around the corner, and with temperatures already starting to drop, the Brakpan SPCA is calling on residents to help keep the animals in its care warm during the colder months by donating blankets.
During winter, the local society uses up to four blankets per animal to ensure they are warm. This puts a massive strain on their washing machines, which are already in use all day, every day.
Their blanket stock is stretched thin with not enough to supply each animal and they also face having to make sure there are enough in case the washed blankets do not dry in time for the freezing evenings.

Members of the public can help by donating any blankets – old, new, fleece, stormy and budget. Donations towards the purchase of blankets will also be gratefully received.
