A man suspected of fatally stabbing his victim in the Mkhancwa Village informal settlement near Ergo on March 27 was arrested by Brakpan police last week.

On the day of the incident, police were en route to the settlement after receiving reports of the stabbing when they were notified by the Pholosong Hospital in Tsakani that the victim had died.

He had been stabbed in the thigh.

“On arrival at the hospital, it was confirmed by a medical assistant that the 39-year-old was deceased,” said Brakpan police spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad.
