Police search for killers after deadly assault

The deceased was found on the floor of his bedroom with his hands and legs bound.

Brakpan police are on the hunt for three men after a Dalview resident was assaulted and fatally injured.

The trio is sought for the murder of the 53-year-old man, who lived at an address along Porter Avenue.
His cellphone and vehicle were stolen during the incident.

Capt Pearl van Staad, local SAPS spokesperson, told the Herald police were summoned to the victim’s home at 00:45 on Saturday.

The deceased was found on the floor of his bedroom with his hands and legs bound. His hands were restrained with a cable, and a jersey was used to tie his legs.

“He was bleeding from his left upper eye area and there was swelling on the back of his left ear,” said van Staad.

“Paramedics declared him dead on the scene.”

SAPS was alerted to the murder by an eyewitness, who told police three men entered the yard and then went into the deceased’s room.

They then left in the deceased’s brown Volkswagen. Cases of murder and house robbery have been opened.
