How to truly relax over the holiday period

Engage in relaxing hobbies such as playing an instrument, reading, painting or cooking.

The Christmas holiday is as much about family as it is about relaxing and unwinding after a long and stressful year.

Unwinding is difficult, however, and we often find ourselves stressing about what the New Year holds for us.

We can also find ourselves ruminating about the past year and the decisions we made and how we think we performed at work or school.

To truly unwind, we must try and get away from these thoughts, try and live in the moment and make plans for how we will make the best of the new year.

Here are some ways to relax this holiday:
• Engage in relaxing hobbies such as playing an instrument, reading, painting or cooking.
• Learn a new skill.
Now that you have some extra time on your hands, it will be wise to put that to good use and learn an extra skill like cooking.
• Spend quality time with friends and family.
• Spend quality time alone – you can spend this time to reflect on all you have accomplished over the year
• Try and live in the moment – by living in the moment we will come to appreciate what we have.
• Meditation
• Exercise
Also make sure that you get all the rest you need to be as refreshed as possible as we head into 2022.
