Young Krause wins at academy

The youngster has his eyes firmly set on making this sport his career in the future.

The Kenneth Dube Golf Academy at Royal Oak Country Club is on a mission to produce quality players.
Sixteen-year-old Ivan Krause is a young player who fits into the mould of a quality player. The youngster was recently named the academy’s young player of the year.
“It feels good. I think I have progressed a lot in the year,” he said.
Krause has enjoyed his golf this year, and it has shown, as he has put on top-class performances at club events and Ekurhuleni matches.
“As I’ve said, I have progressed and have a new set of clubs, which feels great. Everything feels great,” he said.
Krause has been playing golf since he was six years old.
“My father taught me how to play in the beginning, and we played every second Sunday,” he said.
The youngster has his eyes firmly set on making this sport his career.
“I want to go professional. I want to go on tour one day. If not overseas, then in South Africa, that would also be great,” said Krause.
The determination to make it has the local young man practising his golf every second day.
His goal is to reach the heights of his favourite player, Tiger Woods.
Until he can take a step up to the professional ranks, he has one thing in mind: “I just want to enjoy it and make the most of it.”
