Remove your posters or be fined

Political parties whose posters are removed by the municipality will be charged.

The duration for which elections posters may be displayed is prescribed in Section 43(9) of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Billboard and Display of Advertisements By-Law (2017).

The by-laws indicate the posters must be removed 14 days after the date of the elections. Therefore, political parties have until November 15 to remove their posters.

From November 22, the City will remove all the remaining election posters. Political parties whose posters are removed by the municipality will be charged R55.50 per poster.
