Regular dentist visits are important

Visiting your dentist and dental hygienist for a regular check-up and cleaning is an important part of keeping your teeth and gums healthy.

While you may stick to the good habit of brushing your teeth and flossing regularly, there are still areas in your mouth that you might miss.

This is due to being unable to see inside your own mouth while cleaning, and missed spots can lead to the build-up of plaque. Plaque build-up over time leads to tartar, a hard discoloured substance that provides a surface for further plaque build-up.

It is recommended that everyone visits their dentist and dental hygienist at least twice a year. These professionals use specialised tools and mirrors to see and clean your whole mouth and evaluate your dental health.

Please note that everyone’s dental health differs and it might be necessary for you to visit the dentist more often. It is best to consult with your dentist, who can advise you on your specific needs. If you are experiencing pain in your teeth or notice something unusual, it is best to consult with your dentist right away.
