Weekend crime round-up

A jewellery shop in the Mall@Carnival was robbed by four men.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two break-ins took place.

A residence in Prince George Avenue was burgled of a TV, a laptop and cash, while a wallet, a cellphone and a handbag were stolen from a home in Boundary Road.

• Saturday – A jewellery shop in the Mall@Carnival was robbed by four men.

One man entered the store at 9.45am and threatened staff at gunpoint.

They were forced into the office and the gunman demanded money.

He took cash and jewellery from the safe.

The gunman’s three accomplices then entered the shop and removed jewellery from the glass display cabinets.

The value of the stolen items was not disclosed.

• Sunday – A TV was stolen from a home in Loerie Lane, Anzac.
