Weekend crime round-up

Two men stole a cellphone, a set of keys and an engagement ring from a motorist in Athlone Avenue, Dalview.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A bag containing bank cards, a cellphone and personal documents was stolen from a car parked at an address along Kitzinger Avenue.

* A Kingsway Avenue shop was burgled of various goods.
No further information pertaining to this incident was received

• Saturday – Two men stole a cellphone, a set of keys and an engagement ring from a motorist in Athlone Avenue, Dalview.
The victim was stationary at the traffic lights at 8.30pm when a black vehicle stopped next to him.
Two men alighted the car and approached the victim’s vehicle, trying to open the driver’s side door, which was locked.
They then went to the passenger side, opened the door and grabbed the victim’s belongings.

* A car parked along Prince George Avenue in the CBD was broken into and cash was stolen.

* Fifteen laptops valued at over R97 000 were stolen during a break-in at a store in Mall@Carnival.

• Sunday – No information was received.
