Ambulance services have been provincialised

DEMS is still reachable for fires and rescue services.

Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) reminded residents that ambulance services have been provincialised.

William Ntladi, DEMS spokesperson, said community members are still phoning the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) emergency call centre for medical or trauma service.

“When not assisted with services needed, they vent their anger and frustrations out on firefighters and resources.

“As from July 1 this year, several fire stations were attacked, windows shattered, and firefighters physically and verbally attacked,” said Ntladi.
