Brakpan SPCA pawfect their first-aid skills

It was presented by Dr Tanya Grantham and covered skills and knowledge needed to cope with canine and feline medical emergencies.

Staff, committee members, volunteers and supporters from the Brakpan SPCA attended a first-aid course for animals on Sunday.

Presented by Animal Health and Hydro, the workshop was held in Benoni and participants learnt about basic animal health, CPR for dogs (with adaptations for cats), immediate management of common injuries, frequently occurring conditions and poisoning.

It was presented by Dr Tanya Grantham and covered skills and knowledge needed to cope with canine and feline medical emergencies.

In attendance at the workshop from the Brakpan SPCA were, from left: Mariska Venter (trainee inspector), Tamaryn Lombard (manager), Christene Venter (volunteer), Sanette Bosman (chairperson) and Jayde Coetzee (supporter).
The workshop was presented by Dr Tanya Grantham from Animal Health and Hydro. Benjamin Roets is an office administrator at the Brakpan SPCA.
