Brakpan Labour Centre to close

The provincial management has put together a contingency plan to ensure service delivery is not affected.

The Brakpan Labour Centre at the corner of Voortrekker Road and High Street will close indefinitely from November 30 after the current landlord leased out the building to new tenants.

Clients of the centre, however, need not fear that they will be left unattended.

Provincial management has put together a contingency plan to ensure service delivery is not affected and continues.

To this extent, all neighbouring offices have been adequately resourced to handle the influx of clients due to the closure of the Brakpan office.

This includes deploying staff members from the Brakpan office to neighbouring offices from November 26 to assist with the influx of clients.

The Department of Employment and Labour is working hard to ensure the Brakpan office is re-opened soon. In the meantime, clients are advised to visit the following labour centres for services until further notice:

• Springs Labour Centre: Expo Building, second floor, corner of 7th Street and Park Avenue, Springs. The telephone number is 011 365 3700/03.

• Benoni Labour Centre: 10 Woburn Avenue, Woburn Heights, Benoni. The telephone number is 011 747 9600/06.

• Boksburg Labour Centre: Lakeside Building, corner Market and Bank Street, Boksburg. The telephone number is 011 898 3340/2/9.

• Nigel Labour Centre: Corner 4th Avenue and Hendrik Verwoerd Street, SARS building, Nigel. The telephone number is 011 814 7096.

Clients are encouraged to use the department’s online services found on www.labour.gov.za or contact gpcustomerservices@labour.gov.za
