City addressing grass-cutting backlog at cemeteries

The municipality is also pruning trees and ensuring safety at cemeteries.

The City of Ekurhuleni has prioritised the cutting of grass at cemeteries and the cleaning thereof following a backlog caused by lockdown restrictions.

Emmanuel Maphorogo, divisional head for parks and cemeteries in Ekurhuleni, is pleading for patience from residents as the City is working hard to tackle the backlog.

“We are aware of the concerns raised by members of the community with regards to the cleanliness at cemeteries and community parks,” he said.

“We are working on it and we plead for patience.”
