“We do have to protect our brand and authenticity at all times, which is why nobody else may use our name or wording from our name.”

Santa Shoebox Project would like to remind the public that their name is registered and cannot be used by other project organisers or organisations.

According to Margie Kostelac, of Santa Shoebox Project, no other project or person may use the words Santa Shoebox or Santa Shoe Box or Shoe Box related to their project.

“Our donors may perceive this as another arm of our project, which it is not,” she said.

“We have had the public contacting us when they have seen the name used and donated to that cause. They have then requested Section 18As or recognition as one of our donors and, because they did not donate to the registered Santa Shoebox Project, we cannot provide this to them.

“We do have to protect our brand and authenticity at all times, which is why nobody else may use our name or wording from our name.”
