Emperors Palace Ready to Run Cup

Limited field for Ready to Run Cup.

There has been no movement at the top of the table for the R900 000 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup presented by Bloodstock South Africa over 1 400m at Turffontein on October 31.

Unbeaten Anything Goes still holds the number one spot on the log with War Of Athena just behind her.

Lower down, however, Gavel Strike from the Lezeanne Forbes stable has moved up to joint eighth spot from position 10, while Gary Alexander-trained The Kop makes an entry at 10 following his win at Turffontein on Saturday.

Paul Peter-trained MK’s Pride, who is placed fifth on the log, could also make an upward move as he is scheduled to race at Turffontein on Thursday.

The Non-Black Type race is run over 1 400m and is open to eligible graduates of the 2019 Bloodstock South Africa Emperor’s Palace Summer Ready To Run Sale.

Entries for the race close at 11am on October 19 with a supplementary entry opportunity that closes at 9am on October 26.

Declarations close at 11am on October 27.

The field will be limited to 16 runners plus two reserves.

The final field will be determined by a panel appointed by the racing operator.

The race forms part of the Grade 2 Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile race meeting and incudes three Grade 3 races.

They are The Graham Beck Stakes for three-year-olds, the HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes for three-year-old fillies, both over 1 400m and the Yellowwood Handicap over 1 800m for fillies and mares.
