An inquest docket has been opened by Brakpan police after the burnt body of a man was found in Vulcania on Saturday.
The local SAPS was called to the scene at an open veld along Molecule Road around 4.30pm.
“The body of a male burnt beyond recognition was found under a tree,” said Brakpan SAPS spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad.
“No form of identification was found.

“The deceased was using plastic for shelter and was possibly burnt by the plastic.
“It is believed the man was in his late 40s.”
Police are appealing to anyone with information, which may help the investigation, to come forward.
