Man arrested with 190kg of dagga

He was taken to the Tsakani Police Station and faces charges of possession and dealing in dagga.

A 47-year-old man was arrested in Tsakani on Sunday afternoon after he was found in possession of 190kg of dagga valued at R230 000.

Responding to a tip-off by concerned members of the community, the EMPD Specialised Task Team Unit raided a house along Siyabonga Street in Extension 19 and found 38 bags of dagga, including eight large refuse bags.

EMPD members also seized R42 160 in cash which was found stashed inside a wardrobe in the man’s bedroom, as well as underneath his bed.
