The coronavirus has greatly increased the needs of these families.

In addition, and of grave concern is the fact that children and teens who are undergoing treatment, and who have had cancer, are at higher risk of contracting the coronavirus by virtue of their compromised immune systems.

The economic situation in which we find ourselves means there is a large percentage of individuals who are currently unemployed or temporarily without income. It is this reality many families are facing.

Without any form of income they are unable to transport their children to and from the hospital, are unable to provide the necessary nutritional requirements the child needs to stay healthy and are not in a position to provide masks and hand sanitisers to protect themselves against Covid-19.

It is at this moment that CHOC’s essential services are needed more than ever.

CHOC is a non-profit organisation made up of caring, committed and passionate people and offers free support to families of children and teens with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders.

CHOC aims to save lives through early detection and make the journey of those who are affected by childhood cancer less burdensome through the comprehensive support programmes they offer.

This is all made possible through corporate sponsorship as well as donations from groups and individuals wanting to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.
