Brakpan Hospice Shop is open

Hospice East Rand has been granted permission to open its charity shops under level four lockdown regulations.

Hospice East Rand has been granted permission to open its charity shops under level four lockdown regulations, and the Brakpan Hospice Shop has reopened.

The local charity shop opened its doors on Monday.

This will come as a relief to the organisation which took financial strain during the lockdown, with all their charity shops being unable to trade.

This non-profit organisation, which provides specialised care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, relies heavily on the income derived monthly from their 10 charity shops and bookshop.

Donation of goods for resale is an invaluable way of helping Hospice to maintain its high standard of care and charity shops form the backbone of the continuous income required.

Many people have been having a clear-out at home during the lockdown, so why not donate your unwanted goods to the shop.

Donations required include pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, linen, curtains, ornaments, men’s, ladies’ and children’s clothing, toys, furniture, electrical appliances in working order, bric-a-brac, books, DVDs and CDs.

The operating hours are 9am to 4pm during weekdays and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.

The shop is situated at 369 Prince George Avenue.
