Choosing the perfect lounge suite

A lounge suite is a big investment and should be chosen wisely. CAPTION:

Choosing a new lounge suite will most likely be one of the most important investments you make for your home.

Your lounge suite is more than an item you just sit on, it’s where you watch TV, eat dinner, entertain and so much more.

So it would make sense to choose wisely as you will be spending a lot of time on it.

As much as your lounge suite should be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, here are some tips to consider:

  • Choose the right colour – give your colour scheme a long hard think.

Will this go with my lounge and the current furniture pieces that I have?

Your colour choice will have a big impact on the room so make sure that your choice complements the room.

If you are undecided go for a natural earthy tone or even just a dark leather that you can brighten up with scatter cushions and accessories as your taste changes with the seasons and trends.

  • Fabric – think about durability and cleaning, so if you have messy children or cats and dogs, go for a darker material or leather that won’t show the dirt and is easy to clean.
  • Size – you don’t want a big bulky piece in a tiny room so measure it.

Check the dimensions of the couch and make sure that the space it’s going into will work.

A great tip is to actually tape out the spot you want to place the couch in on the floor with the correct dimensions to see that you are happy with how it fits.
