The DA in Ekurhuleni is encouraging residents to stay alert as some criminals have been posing as city officials.
“We have been inundated with calls from concerned residents who have had people knocking on their doors, claiming to be metro officials and wanting to enter their properties,” said Clr Khathutshelo Rasilingwane, DA shadow MMC for Health and Social Development in Ekurhuleni.
“Residents need to stay alert as criminals will use this opportunity to try to access their properties.
“We encourage those residents who suspect that these individuals may be ‘fake’ officials to request identity documents.
“The City of Ekurhuleni health care workers have IDs with the metro and Gauteng logos.
“If you feel unsafe, contact the SAPS immediately.”
