Pick n Pay extends a helping hand to communities
The supermarket handed over food parcels to 30 families in Boksburg.
Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival has reached out to 30 vulnerable families whose children attend Windmill Park Primary School.
According to Windmill Park Primary School principal Oscar Lekoane, they were approached by the store to identify 30 needy learners from the school.
Pick n Pay Mall@Carnival senior manager Zukie Mbotshane said the donation was part of the store’s social responsibility to give back to the community.
“We were also propelled to donate food to the 30 disadvantaged families due to the social challenges that people are faced with during this lockdown period,” Mbotshane said.
One of the parents, Margret Jacobs, expressed her gratitude for the grocery that she received.
“I am so happy. It’s like the store knew that at home we had nothing to survive on for the coming weeks,” Jacobs said.
