• Friday – Three security guards on duty at a shopping centre along 12th Road in Maryvlei were locked in a storeroom by a gang of armed robbers.
At least seven robbers confronted the guards as they were patrolling the premises around 2.30am.
One guard was robbed of his cellphone, radio and some cash.
The guards were forced to help the robbers carry looted goods from one of the shops.
They were then locked in a small storeroom.
The robbers fled with TVs, speakers and cellphones.
• Saturday – A vehicle parked at an address along George Avenue was broken into and a speaker was stolen.
* Four delivery motorbikes were stolen from a fast food outlet situated along Voortrekker Road.
• Sunday – A Volkswagen Golf was stolen from Berry Avenue in Leachville.
It was later recovered in Tsakane.
* A bottle store, situated along Denne Road in Rand Collieries, was burgled of liquor to the value of R80 000.
Bottles of whiskey, brandy and wine, and crates of beer were stolen.
